Potential memorial designs for Las Vegas massacre unveiled, major step in planning process
Fox News Flash top headlines are here. Check out what's clicking on Foxnews.com. A series of white angel wings rise up from the earth bathed in a warm glow of light, their sweeping forms creating a long covered pathway surrounded by trees in a possible centerpiece for the memorial to modern America's deadliest mass shooting. It's one of five potential designs unveiled Monday for a permanent monument on the Las Vegas Strip where 58 people were shot and killed and hundreds more injured at a country music festival on Oct. 1, 2017. Two survivors later died from their gunshot wounds.

Elon Musk wins approval to build a 29-mile tunnel system underneath the Las Vegas strip
Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has won approval to build a 29-mile tunnel system underneath the Las Vegas strip. It will allow up to 57,000 passengers to hitch rides in Teslas to and from casinos every hour, as well as to the city's airport and the Raiders football stadium. The SpaceX founder's Boring Company already operates a smaller version of the'Vegas Loop' system underneath the Las Vegas Convention Center, which opened earlier this year to lackluster reviews. Instead of futuristic cars zipping people from place to place at high speeds, it features regular Tesla vehicles being driven by humans trundling through a tunnel at just 35mph. However, a huge city-wide expansion of the tunnels, which was proposed by The Boring Company in December last year, has now been approved by Vegas officials.

I Rode Lyft's Self-Driving Taxi Down the Las Vegas Strip. Here's What It Was Like
It started like any other Lyft pickup: After entering my destination in the app, a car appeared at my location several minutes later. But as I stepped inside the vehicle and shut the door, I was required to confirm my trip details on a tablet mounted near the center console facing the backseat. A driver sat in the front seat, but he took his hands off the wheel just a few moments into our drive. Suddenly, a disembodied voice announced that the car would be entering autonomous driving mode. My ride was the result of a partnership between Lyft and automotive technology company Aptiv, which are proving self-driving taxi rides during this year's CES in Las Vegas.

Robot bartenders: The latest innovation to hit the Las Vegas Strip
They will make your drinks, but they won't listen to your problems. Robot bartenders have made their way to the Las Vegas Strip -- evidence perhaps that Skynet is closer to becoming self-aware and will have a convenient place to take the edge off. Bar owner Rino Armeni swears this isn't yet another move to replace human beings. "No, no, no," he said gamely and with a laugh. Though, it should be noted, the fountains have not joined the labor force and been retrained to become, say, baristas.

Google's self-driving car gets green light in Nevada
Commuting may never be the same again in Nevada, the US state that is home to Las Vegas, legalised gambling and huge amounts of desert. Besides gambling, it is now legal there to have a self-driven car – providing it matches up to the specification achieved by Google's autonomous models. The first fully licensed self-driven car – a modified Toyota Prius – won a special permit on Tuesday, the first of three applied for by Google, which allows it to be used on the state's roads, including the famous Las Vegas strip. Autonomous vehicles are the "car of the future," said Bruce Breslow, the director of Nevada's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), in a statement. The state also has plans to eventually license autonomous vehicles owned by members of the public, the DMV said.
